Sundays are special days,
not because it is generally our off day but because it carries special meaning.
Sunday is the day of the Sun, as the name of the first day of the week, comes
from the Hellenistic Astrology where
the seven planets, known in English
as Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, Mercury and the Moon, each had an
hour of the day assigned to them, and the planet which was regent during the
first hour of any day of the week gave its name
to that day. During the 1st and 2nd century, the week of seven days was
introduced into Rome from Egypt, and the Roman names of the planets were given
to each successive day.
In Russian the
word for Sunday is Воскресенье (Voskreseniye) meaning "Resurrection". In
other Slavic languages the word means "no
work", for example Polish: Niedziela, Ukrainian: Недiля, Belorussian:
Нядзеля, Croatian: nedjelja, Serbian and Slovenian: Nedelja, Czech: Neděle, and
Bulgarian: Неделя.*
Every each of us decide how to spend
this “holy day” – staying in bed all day, hanging at home in pajamas, watching
TV; travel out of the city and finding a nice place for picnic; meeting out
with friends for a cup of coffee; reading a book aaall day long or why not
creating something (DIY stuffs). Lately DIY activities became very popular,
everyone is trying to create something by himself or if someone is not that
creative person than one can find a lot of this stuff for sale in internet.
I am also fan of the DIY activities.
I love doing things with my own hands. From paintings up to furniture –
everything comes to me as a challenge and when I finish the work on the project
I do I feel proud J
Today I wanted to fill my house with
colour and decide to start with handmade jewelry, buuut ………..first, of course, COFFEE
